“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”
In Mexico, there are families that doesn’t consider the education of children between three and five years a priority; more than a million of kids doesn’t attend preschool; more than four millions of children and adolescents doesn’t go to school; and in this year, 600 thousand, approximately, will quit their studies.
The non-profit Keeping Kids In School (KKIS) is a fellowship of volunteers and advocates of education that works for a future where the education became affordable for every children and adolescents in Mexico, mainly in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.
How do they achieve this goal? They support elementary school children, adolescent of high school and university students through their five programs:
- School supplies
- English conversation clubs
The alliance between GMB and KKIS, based on the fifth program, seeks to finance the 35 high school students and, in this way, end the poverty cycle and initiate the domino effect to impact other generations to build stronger communities and achieve #DreamsBuild.
GMB will equalize the public donations to achieve the monetary goal and cover the first year of high school of 35 students of the 2018-2021 generation. This amount is of $385,000.00 Mexican pesos.
What does this mean? That for every 1 peso collected, GMB will donate another peso more.
You have the opportunity to join this fight and to also help KKIS so they can continue working for the education of all of those kids that are thirsty of knowledge and of changing the world.
Let’s work together and change the life of these 35 students, let’s build stronger communities and let’s be an positive impact on the future generations. #DreamsBuild.
